Interview
After networked with 3 analysts in the team, I got a call from a senior member of the firm. The interview was asking about my opinion on equity investing. The questions were thought-provoking but not very technical. One question was: What percent of the return will you consider a good return? My answer was: The return should be considered based on the cost of your capital.
Interview Questions
The question had no standard answer. You need to explain your answer to the interviewer. Let's say, why you think 20% in US Equity is a good return for you? How about 18%? What was your measurement of "good return" and why you choose that standard to measure? The interviewer was nice and patient. But he always wants to force you to think deeper about your answers and has a lot of follow-up questions to ask. The interview was about 40 minutes. Only 2 main questions, but a lot of follow-ups small questions.
