Interview
I applied through Handshake and the campus recruitment within Handshake. Before Handshake application, I had a coffee chat with a first year analyst who was an alum from my school. So I would say referral was not a big factor.

First round interview was within our campus, and a 1-on-1 interview with an associate.
Then the next round interview was a Superday after two weeks. So the entire process was completed within 3 weeks in total. Superday was 4 separate 1-on-1 interviews. The entire interview process was very behavioral questions heavy and seemed more like a personality fit.

This was for a role in one of the two main Australian cities, it was a simple process. The job ad was posted on LinkedIn and from there (they were looking for someone with 1-3 years' experience). I heard back within 10 days and was asked to come in for a 1-on-1 with their Head of Research, followed by an interview with 3 analysts. It's been 2 days since that chat and I expect to hear back within a week. It was a really simple process, but I gather it was because I came from an ER background and didn't have to prove I knew how to model, write reports etc..
Interview Questions
Asked about a specific stock currently under their coverage and how I would go about analysing whether it's a good business.

I go to one of their target schools, so I applied via my school's job portal after CG hosted an informational event on campus. The app required a cover letter, resume, and transcripts. They replied relatively quickly and set up on-campus interviews a few days after the application deadline. If you were selected, you go to their office for a final round interview a few days later. CG Toronto is a lean time, so you get a lot of responsibilities early on. Management is nice. To prepare for the interview, prepare a buy and sell stock pitch. According to their MD, they always ask that for technicals.
