Interview

Submitted resume and profile through a recruiter. First round with an capital markets MD. Mainly behavioral questions to get to know the candidate better--minor technical to confirm candidate had fundamental understanding of financial analysis. Second round was with junior members of the team who the candidate would be working with closely. Relatively straightforward conversation-style interview to confirm personalities wouldn't clash. For third round, was asked to create a presentation relating to a hot field at the time--no data sets provided, everything was to be done from scratch. (roughly a week to prepare). Final round was with regional head, same MD from the first round, and a bit of face-to-face with HR who would take over the process. Final + 1 round was a dinner with the team, but no offer had been provided at that point--dinner was essentially the final round of the entire process and get candidates oral confirmation that he would join if offer was made.

Interview Questions

Questions were very straightforward. The presentation for the third round was a bit tricky as no structure was provided and the Q&A during and after the presentation was difficult to prepare.

The whole process went smoothly. Applied on June and got my first round invite on July. Had two 30min back to back interviews with two analysts. Then around a month later got the superday invite, which was the same format as the first round with more experienced bankers instead. Heard back the final decision a week later.

For technicals one of the harder questions I was asked was why do we calculate levered beta in a DCF.
