I reached out to an MD via email. After the initial outreach, a phone interview with 2 analysts was scheduled (2-on-1).
Interview Questions
Overall, the interview was very straight forward. It was purely fit so standard questions such as "What is your background?", "How did you hear about our firm?", "Why did you select you school?", "Walk me thought your CV.", and "What are your strengths and weaknesses?". We also talked about my interest in investment banking and why I wanted to pursue it as a career. The interview lasted only about 15-20 minutes with no technicals so nothing was too tricky.

I reached out to a director post-graduation while looking for a job. We had coffee, he liked me and sent my resume to the managing partner. I had a phone interview with two partners over the phone and then I met them both in person for a final round.

Hiring is unstructured, the best way to get an interview is to contact senior personnel directly. Two rounds of phone interviews (1 on 1 with an associate or VP, followed by a group phone interview by two MD's). Both interviews had a substantial number of technical questions, with fit/behavioral questions mostly restricted to leadership and extracurriculars.
