Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I applied online in March on the Duff and Phelps website. Did not expect to hear back since I applied in the past for the role and the IB posting they had. Surprised to hear about setting up a phone screen in the first week of April. The phone screen was half fit and half technical, so I did not prepare too much before hand as I done enough interviews to where I could say answers verbatim. The questions for fit were along the lines of "Tell me a time when you faced a conflict when working on team," while the technical were basic along the lines of "What is WACC?" and "How would you value a company?" I heard about a follow up interview the next week and did not do much to prepare, besides browsing through some guides. I went to PA and met the recruiter and I was able to interview with 3 people that day. The first interview was a fit focused, with the second interview being a mix of fit and technical (Example question: How to value a company that has negative net income?), with the last interview being tech heavy. Overall, I had a positive experience and was really lose going into the interview. This was due to me receiving a 3 offers (2 IB and 1 PE) before going into interview, so timing was everything. As for advice, I would say that WSO Guides, plus M&I and Vault will cover your bases. I found out later that they took someone closer to the region but wanted me to interview with the DC team but by then I had taken one of the IB offers. The people were really friendly and accommodating. Really a good experience.
