Energy Consulting Associate

I first applied online through their company website. I got a call less than two weeks later to set up an interview. Then got an email confirming the interview with an agenda. I was to meet with 4 senior people individually and have lunch with 2 younger analysts/associates. Overall, the interviews were mostly going over past work experience and some questions testing my knowledge about the power markets. Everyone also asked why I wanted the position and to work for CRA. Things went well and I got called back for a 2nd interview about a month later. I met with 6 principals/associate principals, all one on one, and they asked similar background questions with more focus on how much I wanted the job and my commitment level if I got it. Again things went well and I was told they were very close to giving me an offer about a week later.

It helped a lot that I had experience in power markets and some programming. I think for an entry-level position they would be more focused on programming skills and if you knew some basic knowledge about power markets that would be very beneficial.

The people all seemed incredibly bright with some of them having helped with the formation of modern power markets and everyone was very nice for the most part. Work culture seemed like there was a lot to do but a very collegial environment with a pretty flat structure.
