FX & Commodities Trader Intern

Team was looking for an intern asap so the interview process was really fast. I was referred on the Monday, got the interview on the thursday, and received the offer on the friday. I started the internship one week later. Mostly, they were looking for an intern that knew how to code in VBA and Python because the trader that led all of the programming projects was leaving the team a few months later. I was asked to provide a github in order to assess my coding ability, was asked about my motivations for working in trading, and some beginner questions about the products they trade (vanilla options, swaps on FX, Interest rates and Commodities).
The people are nice, work culture is really chill (9-5 for me as an intern, the full timers work 9 to 6). This is due to the fact that they act more as a broker than as a market maker and they have no outstanding positions in their books apart from the FX Spot book. Office is really nicely located with tons of public transport access.
