Analyst I, Capital Markets

First round was an on-campus interview with a third year analyst in the group. They then invited several of peers and I to attend a super day at their Boston offices and a cocktail reception the night before. About ten interviewees were taken to a conference room at the beginning of the day and told that they are competing for four slots. Then each person is sent to a room where they sit and wait for interviewers to come and see them one at a time. Some of the younger interviewers, analysts, were very technical in their line of questioning and wanted to make sure that the candidates had a basic understanding of credit analysis. The MD was more focused on the candidate's personality and motivation to join the team. The group seemed to be growing very quickly and the whole process seemed somewhat rushed. The tenuous nature of Citizen's relationship with RBS came up several times, but was dismissed quickly by the more senior team members. The culture and hours seemed to align closely with their investment banking counterparts at RBS.
