Interview
Round 1 - phone interview with junior employee. Round 2, personality test. Round 3, in-person interview with GP. Round 4 - build pitch book. Round 5 - model building. Round 6, present pitch book / models. Round 7, phone interview with other GP. Incredibly long process. That said, everyone there was quite nice. I would do the process all over again because I learned so much simply by going through the process.
Interview Questions
Questions about ownership stake that should result form size of investment. Questions about what kind of strategic buyer would be interesting in purchasing the asset, which was a tough question because the asset in question isn't really the type to synergistically fit within an existing company. They were nice enough to give me almost a full minute to think about the question when I asked for time to think about it. Other questions were not unexpected, but building a pitch book and models was difficult when you also have a full time job to tend to.
