Interview
Initial introduction made over email. Then did a one hour phone interview. Phone interview started with two behavioral questions, then moved to questions related to stocks. The questions were barely technical and all based off very simple information, such as "how do you value a company" and "what do you read to keep up with the market." The interview then turned to why asset management, and questions related to excel proficiency.
Interview Questions
The most difficult question by far was the stock pitch, after a bunch of non-technical questions, the HR rep asked me to pitch a stock I liked.

Another tough question was related to the news in the market, I read the wall street journal beforehand, but had clearly missed the news on some key aspects that day

Other hard questions included the structure of the business: I thought Clearbridge dealt with fixed-income products as well: it does not. Therefore, this was a question I bungled, yet could have aced had I done a little bit more research.

Understanding who asset management clients are is a must-- know who Clearbridge works for (not specific companies, rather, know the types of investors they serve) and what they offer before you go into the interview.
