I applied online speculatively, and they flew me out 2 weeks after my application. They took care of travel expenses. At the Davidson Building they were all very nice and I felt relaxed very quickly, as they offered coffee, tea, juice etc. The interview consisted of one verbal test (30min), one numerical test (30min) and a casual conversation with a junior economist about my motivations (why did I want to work for Compass Lexecon, what type of work do they do, who are the clients...). The tests were very similar to GMAT questions, therefore, a good practice is really important.
