Investment Banking Associate

I originally applied to a posting on LinkedIn and shortly thereafter received an email requesting a time to set up a phone interview with a few of the partners of the firm. Once we found an agreeable time, the phone interview itself was very cordial and they mostly wanted to know about my personal and professional background and why I might make for a good fit within the firm. I wanted to know more about the firm as well and learned that they are a life sciences and healthcare focused group simply looking to add a few junior level positions to help manage a growing backlog of business.

One thing they tended to stress during the conversation was how focused they were on "gear heads", meaning people that have very advanced modeling skills. It came up in a number of questions where I was expected to describe projects that I worked on that might be relevant to show a matching skillset or experience.

The interview left off with one of the partners telling me that they would be in touch. I did not follow up and I have not heard from them since.
