Interview
I was referred to the firm through a senior level banker I have worked with. The interview process consisted of meeting one of the junior level guys first. He went through my resume and asked me an opinion on the direction of the energy market and what I would invest in. I told him a few investment strategies I liked and he seemed be pleased. Next I interviewed with one of the MD level guys. Basically the same question with more indepth digging in. He gave me a small model to build and about an hours time to do so. It was a straightforward 3 -statement projection model. I got an offer within 2 weeks.
Interview Questions
Tell me about your background and past investing experience.

Answer: Basically this was just a rehash of the resume. He stopped to ask follow-on questions at various points.
Tell me what investment trends you see in the oil & gas industry.

Answer: I had been following trends and developments through industry pubs, and hence was able to opine on what I see as the macro (10-20 yr time frame), and micro (next 2-3 yr time frame) trends.
