Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview
Started out with a phone call with one of the VPs who was an alumni of my school. Transferred me to his MD for a second round phone call. This was followed by the superday, where I had 4 interviews, meeting 8 people total.
Interview Questions
Most of the technical questions were not too bad. Got asked the normal "Walk me through a DCF" questions. Some of the more difficult questions included: How does the WACC change as your capital structure goes from 0% debt to 100% debt? Asked about PIK Interest from an accounting/3 statement standpoint. There was a set of interview questions that were brainteasers, two of the questions were pattern based questions, the first being an arithmetic pattern (difference between two numbers was twice the difference between the two numbers before), and the second being a digit pattern (difference in digits). The last brain teaser was about crossing a dark bridge with only one candle, and 5 people each of whom travel at different speeds (1 min, 2 min, 3 min, 4 min, 5 min), only two people can be on the bridge at a time, and they must be carrying the candle.
