Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I originally applied for a FICC role (think FX, Commodities Options etc.), but I never heard anything back for approx. 3 months. Finally, an associate trader from another desk called me and invited me for an interview. 1 week later I had an interview at the Frankfurt HQ. Firstly, I had a tour on the trading floor, which was the best part of it. The interview was supposed to be 1.5 hrs (3 interviews à 30min) but in reality it took 3.5 hrs! Firstly, I was asked some macro questions (ECB, QE etc.) but pretty soon the interviewer started with mind-blowing astro-physical questions (what is the velocity of Jupiter compared to Saturn? How can you calculate the distance btw. two stars?). The second interview was with a cheesy junior trader who asked me some weird brainteasers...finally he asked me some basic stuff about the pricing of an interest rate swaption etc. Third interview was with the woman who invited me for the interview. Questions were focusing on my technical knowledge of the different interest rate products etc.
