Investment Banking Analyst

1. Applied through their online system. Classic IBD application, a few questions about the role and motivation. Make sure you put the effort into the application because a) it will decide whether or not you make it to the next page b) during my last interview with the most senior banker in the department guess what he had in his hand - my CV and the Application questions.
2. CV Screening - You will not hear from them unless they have actually started interviewing (I doubt they do it on a rolling basis) - for me, I applied late November and got invited to the next round in December.
3. Online Testing - Psychometric tests which are classic SHL (most UK investment bank use the same tests, same questions - practice, practice, practice). I was 100% sure that all my answers were PERFECT.
4. First round of interviews - Classic fit interview combined with a technical interview. Why the company, walk-through the CV and some CV based questions and technical questions (accounting and valuation).
5. Final round of interviews - Three interviews, one on one, business case and senior person. Highly technical interviews.
6. Offer - Heard back very soon after.
