Summer Analyst

Applied through career center and was later notified of interview. Only had a first round which was 2-on-1 with a VP and an analyst. Prepped for a technical interview but for the most part it was qualitative, asked about my thoughts on the current oil situation. The VP was very biased and disagreed with points I made such as potential industry consolidation due to the combination of reserve write downs and a lot of dry powder held by strategics and sponsors. Overall very political, they knew who they wanted before arriving. Only advice I can give is to network with as many alumni as possible and show a genuine interest.
