I did not get the job. Interview questions were typical workplace questions, but my grades weren't competitive enough.
Interview Questions
most difficult question was about how many golf balls i could pack inside of a limo. I said well limos can fit about 10 people, 10 people equal 6 ft times 1 ft times 2 ft. so 12 cubic feet, therefore 120 cubic feet. A standard issue golf ball is 3 inches cubed, so 4 times that equals a foot. Therefore you can fit 480 golf balls inside of a limo. The interviewer looked at me and asked me if I play golf I said no, I just watched a lot of ESPN to prepare for this interview. He said im too funny to work in finance.

Interview
The interview process at Dow Jones was incredibly easy. It is all behavioral questions read off of a script. The employees are friendly, but the work seems very repetitive. I thought the research associate position was going to allow me to dive deep into the financing of VC backed companies, but it was actually just a job where you called for information. Disappointing. The skills test just makes sure you are detail oriented. Triple check each step at the end. For example, one question asked me to end a title with no period. Make sure you do not put the period.
