Investment Banking Analyst

On campus resume drop. Several weeks later was contacted to set up first round interview on campus with a Director. Interview was fairly straightforward, high level resume walk through, valuation, discussion of deals I worked on at previous internship. He told me at end of the interview that he would like for me to come to the superday at the beginning of November.

Pre-super day drinks the night before at a nearby restaurant. Super day began with 3-4 individual 30 minute interviews with various directors/MDs/associates. Each focused on different fit aspects primarily. Never really grilled technicals, only high level walk through in one interview with the associate.

In the afternoon there was a group project and presentation. In a group of 5 we were given a 10-page write up on a company and essentially asked to create a basic DCF model for it. An analyst/associate monitored us while we worked. An hour later, a VP came in. We presented to him and he asked questions about our model and assumptions.

Did not hear back and followed up a week later. Told I was still in contention, but they had given out first round of offers, they would be in touch either way soon. Never heard from them after this.
