Skills Test
Interview
Was contacted by their HR dept and they set up an appt. I had to conduct a skills test on excel. Basically, I had to draft a presentation for a client (reformat, create formulas for the performance, synthesize some information, etc.). Then I had to take a set of more test over a week. I had to compare two funds and describe which was better for a particular type of client. I had a couple of conversations with my firend who works there. Lastly, I got a call from the head of HR extending me the offer.
Interview Questions
She asked me what skills differentiates me. I answered. She essentially said my anwser didn't differentiate me and asked me again. She seemed more satisfied with my second slightly more specific response.
She immediately, without hesitation, asked me why I didn't like more current employer. Why was I looking elsewhere?
I explained to her I ws not there do to dislike of my current employer but because I felt it possibly lead to a better opportunity. I told her that my friend had brought the opening to my attention. I then advised her we spoke at lenght about the company, the position, and wether I'd be a good fit.
