Initial maths and stats test on an online platform, short 15 minute tests that can be prepped for quite easil with a background in a mathematical subject.
First screening call was then booked after passing the intial online test. Very short interview of 15 minutes discussing 'why this firm?', 'Why trading' salary expectations and next steps.
Next and final interview was a interview with a senior trader on desk lasting 45 min , asked many techical questions about commodities including - 'where are the oil hubs in the world', 'what is the differrence between WTI and Brent' , 'what is the current oil prices', ' why do you want to relocate' , 'how is crude processed into its final products'
the last 20 minutes of the interview consisted of typpical maths questions - ' how many trailing zeroes in 100 factorial?' and 'how many coke cans would fit in a barel of oil'
So in total there was 2 interviews but the final interview was intense.
Advice to other candidates is to practice typical quant maths puzzles and questions and if going into commodity trading, read around the commodity itself and know the basic terminologies inside and out.
