The hiring process I went through for the Trading Analyst position at EDF Trading was a rigorous, multi-stage assessment that tested my commercial acumen, quantitative skills, and cultural fit. I started with an online CV submission and numerical reasoning assessments, followed by an HR video screen where I spoke about my motivation for energy trading and my core competencies. From there, I moved on to a technical case study, where I had to model energy market data using Python and Excel to solve a risk and portfolio scenario. There's a final interview with a manager that i couldn't attend.
