Research Intern Interview - Research
The first part of the interview process was a standard information/fit interview. Typical questions such as tell me about yourself, why this firm, what do you know about this firm, why are you interested in the industry, what do you expect to do here, etc. Nothing out of the ordinary here.
The second part of the interview process was to create a sample research report. I was sent a couple examples as a reference point first, but basically I had an equity to research and had to compile a presentation from the equity research reports that were sent to me as well about the target. I was given the weekend to create the report. I sent in the research report and presented it to the same interviewer who talked to me in the first round. He asked me some questions about the firm, what I thought about it, industry information, etc.
That was pretty much the entire process for me and we had another correspondence after that to tell me that the company was interested in having me as an intern.
