Interview
The process started with a group of analysts and one director speaking to a group of finance students on campus. After that several were selected for interviews starting with a phone interview. Then two were brought in for in person interviews at the office with two different MDs. After that HR contacted me the following week with an offer. Phone call first followed by an offer letter and the typical background check procedures.
Interview Questions
The interview was really easy. But, I was being interviewed as a late add to the intern pool so it was not the typical process, they needed bodies. I did not get an technical questions. But the most difficult questions were digging in deep into leadership experience on the resume. Every experience on your resume needs to be defended and explained fully and they will look to find inconsistencies. In addition to resume questions they want examples of all traits you bring up. The typical strength and weakness questions but you need to be prepared to prove your strengths and not just lost them. Intellectual curiosity is a major value at the company so do your best to show a thirst for knowledge and expertise.

Interview
Very smooth, recruiter was always available to talk. There was a skills test first, followed by a behavioral interview, then a one on one interview with the manager from my group
Interview Questions
Describe the effects that X will have on the market? This was done a few times with different scenarios that affected my group.
Describe a recent transaction in X market that interests you.
Otherwise there weren’t too many difficult or unexpected questions. The test given before the interviews was a lot like the SAT reading comprehension and there were a lot of graph and table based math problems. Neither were difficult at all as long as you took your time and used a calculator to check your work.

Interview
Phone Screener, group interviews over the phone (two rounds), flown to chicago to do more interviews. Then interviews with the managers
Interview Questions
Why did you chose the college you chose? This threw me off in that it is not a question that is very specific to the job, but instead was asked for me to go through the analytical process of the choice. It was interest in that I did not go to a target school, so describing how I chose a state school was a little more difficult to answer. In the end, I realized that I was in the last round and that the school did not matter, but the thought process on how I chose it was the most important thing, given that the role was analytical.
