Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Somehow was contacted after only sending in a resume electronically without having a reference there of any kind (this happened extremely rarely). Had a phone interview with the HR person which was apparently recorded and for traders to listen to later. I was asked a lot of fit type questions. Very pointed questions about why I wanted to be a trader and if I had any idea what I would do on a daily basis. The second half were relatively straightforward brainteasers and mental math that were not particularly hard, that is they don't stand out in my mind compared to many of the other prop shops' questions. I very actively told them that I would be out in New York doing interviews anyway in two weeks (i.e. they would not have to fly me out there or anything) so if they wanted to continue they should let me know quick and book something in office then. They got back to me quick and the next week I had an interview with two traders on the phone. Bunch of fit questions and then finally one puzzle/brainteaser question that was relatively long which they gave like twenty-thirty minutes for. Did not want to hear my reasoning really- just wanted an answer within that time frame. Didn't get passed this round.
