Founded in 1995, Foundation Capital invests in seed, early and later stage US ventures. It focuses on ventures in the following segments: Consumer and Enterprise Software; Finaniclal, Marketing and Clean Technology; and Applications. Typically, Foundation makes an initial investment of $1 to $10 million and follow that by participating in each subsequent round of financing. As lead investors, they are often asked to fill Board seats.
Notable investments include: CloudOn (acquired by Dropbox), Codefast (acquired by Coverity), Coverity (acquired by Synopsys), Everyday Health (NYSE: EVDY), Guardian Analytics, Kik, MobileIron (NASDAQ: MOBL), Netflix, Novoed, Responsys (acquired by Oracle; NASDAQ:MKTG), TalentBin (acquired by Monster) and Utah Street Labs.
