Interview
I applied online, then heard back 1.5 weeks later from HR to setup a first round phone interview. The phone call did consist of some easy technicals. Then heard back the same week to schedule a second round interview on Zoom Video.
Interview Questions
Not really any unexpected questions. I was asked to pitch a stock. I was asked the different ways to estimate the total addressable market. I was asked a specific TAM question given several inputs. Also got asked some conceptually dense questions which I think we're meant to be brain teasers but not the typical type of brain teaser.

Applied through my universities career

Submitted cover letter, resume.

One on one interview with someone at firm.

Interviewer was on his phone the whole time
Interview Questions
First, walk me through your resume; some back and forth on specifics of specific projects (like asking margins etc).

Then, stock pitch, with a ton of quiz like questions: who is the chief executive officer, who is the chief financial officer, what's the revenue, what's the market cap, what's the EBITDA margin, what's the net income; what's the ratio of debt to equity; what's their cash conversion ratio. The entire time he checked the answers on his phone on something that must have been yahoo finance.

Also, how can equity research be beneficial to society?

Applied through OCR and interviewed after 2-3 weeks on campus. The second round was after a month in their NY office.
Interview Questions
There were not really difficult questions. Standard behavioral questions were asked: Why did you go to your school? Why liberal arts education? Why did you pick a book about investing? What do you expect to get out of this experience? What is your ideal job look like? What do you do in a Club? Why not macro and why fundamental investing? Which industries are you interested? What style of investing are you interested in? How much financial modeling have you done? No technicals, no brainteasers, or case studies.

On campus interview, and then a superday at the office. There were 2 weeks between the on-campus interview and the superday
Interview Questions
It surprised me that there were no usual accounting questions or valuation questions. There were a lot of market sizing questions that were more consultanty than finance, but the firm was looking for analytical and problem solving skills so it made sense that they asked those.

There were questions like, "how many water bottles are sold in the US each year" and you had to walk through your assumptions reasonings but they did not care about answers so it was more to see how you were thinking to solve them

1st round OCR on campus one-on-one format, superday about 2 weeks later on site in NY for around 4 hours
Interview Questions
1) Value a small but growing sneaker company, provided information about basic P&L.
2) Pitch a stock (asked multiple times), asked about drivers of investment thesis and valuation. Was asked to pitch 2 longs and a short in total.
3) Some brainteaser type questions - market sizing, etc.
4) Behavioral questions, but none that were particularly difficult.
Intent is to triangulate whether you're a) an amicable coworker with the disposition to succeed at the firm b) an investor who thinks critically and is curious.

Interview
Straightforward, applied through OCR, interviewed 1:1 on campus. Behaviorals and one market sizing question.
Interview Questions
- Had to pitch multiple stocks, was asked in total to pitch 4 longs and 1 short.
(Had a tough time doing this as I'd only prepped a limited number of pitches, so was grasping at straws towards the end)
- Market sizing question.
(Straightforward case style, free-flowing questions with the interviewer. Messed up on maths somewhere but went fine)
- Brainteaser - angle between hour/minute hand at 3:15
(Answer is self-explanatory, just know that this is an interview question and don't be caught off guard.
