Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview

This was fall 2018, so it might've changed. After applying it was a phone call, personality test, then a group interview at their office. Interview was easy and not intensive at all. Interview was more to see that you were somewhat competent and to see if they are willing to spend a few months with you.

Interview Questions

There really was no most difficult or unexpected interview questions. The bulk of the interview was more of just a conversation to see if they are willing to spend time with you during your internship. It was just basic behavioral questions in which they got to know you a little bit. Then they asked about your background, particularly in finance. This is also when they ask you about school and what classes you've taken. I got asked what I know about distressed debt, which was the closest to difficult in terms of the questions they asked.

Interview

I responded to a posting on my university job board for an intern position. I was quickly put in contact with the intern program director who scheduled a time for us to have a 30 minute interview. I arrived in business professional attire, while most of the employees were in gym shorts of khaki shorts. We talked briefly about my work experience and the expectations for the internship. I heard back in about a week with an offer to intern.

Interview Questions

This was my only interview ever in which there were no challenging questions whatsoever. My interviewer only asked me to elaborate on points on my resume, as well as asking to explain what I knew about distressed debt. I had a firm understanding and explained it professionally. I ended up getting an offer to intern for the summer.
