Phone Interview
Interview
2 phone interviews which were behaviroal followed up by a quantitative assessment and then finally an onsite.
Interview Questions
These were all very behavioral. What is your greatest failure and what did you learn from it? Three biggest strengths and weaknesses? Why specifically do you choose gelber? Why do you want to pursue a career in trading. There were no brainteasers, technical questions included the ols assumptions. Nothing crazy.

Then we went over the quantiative assement that was given to me. This was on how to create a hedging universe given a variety of etfs, but I am told they change the problem year to year.

Phone Interview

Background Check
Interview
The hiring process was purely over the phone. The 1st interview had a few brain teasers, but after that, it was all behavioral.
Interview Questions
The most difficult question was whether you would play a game where you flip a coin, and if the coin is headed then you get $100, tails you owe $100. You get to decide when the game ends and when it begins. Would you play this game, and if so, how would you decide when the game should be ended or started. The coin is perfectly even and there is no weight on it (ie there is a 50% chance of you receiving either heads or tails on ever single flip). The coin is also not a two-sided coin or anything of the like.

Interview
The interview was very easy. The first round was all behavioral questions (listed in no particular order):
1) What is your edge as a trader
2) Name one weakness
3) What are you interested in working with Gelber Group
4) Why do you want to pursue a career in trading
5) What kind of risk taker are you?
6) Name a time you took a risk

Due to my interest in algorithmic trading, the second round was with a head algo trader. He mostly asked OOP (Object Oriented Programming) questions?
1) What is polymorphism?
2) What is inheritance? Vs subclass?
3) Reference vs Pointer

There were several brain teasers. Mostly easy questions from Heard on the Street.
Interview Questions
What kind of risk taker are you was the hardest questions I had mostly due to the fact that the person who interviewed me was expected a very specific answer. She wanted me to say that I had a high tolerance for risk. However, I stated part of my interest in algo trading was the reduced risk due to historical testing and working in groups. I don't she she like my answer.

1 on 1 Interview
Interview
Had 2 1on1 interviews. One was with a trader/recruiter and the other was with a new hire who had gone through the internship process and was able to speak about his experience. All the questions in both interviews were behavioral. For example: why trading? where would your edge come from a trader? what classes have you taken and plan to take? what kind of risk taker are you? are you a team player or a solo worker? There were no math/brainteasers like some other prop trading firms. I do not know if I received an offer yet.
Interview Questions
Nothing difficult or unexpected. For what classes I have taken, I talked about math and econ and how I want to take some stats
