1 on 1 Interview
Presentation
Please describe the interview / hiring process.
About one day after I applied for the position through my (non-target) school's website I was contacted by a secretary and told to come in the next morning (pre-market opening) to present a stock I would go long on, a stock I would go short on, and where I predicted the market would head. I was told to use slides or a handout to present. I had the meeting with a vice president and it was later than I originally thought because the person before me had come LATE. This had absolutely infuriated the VP I had my interview with and he spent the first ten minutes of my interview ranting about how he couldn't believe the nerve of someone in THIS industry showing up late to an interview. He told me how he almost called the student's father to explain how terrible of a move it was. Then I gave my presentation which he didn't seem too interested in, until I mentioned 3D printing as my industry to go long on, which he had never even heard of. I am serious this guy was a VP and had never heard of 3d printing yet, he had me stop so he could look it up.

Bottom-line don't come to this place late and don't underestimate the position. Be prepared and definitely get technical, I think my mistake was that I didn't get technical enough despite it being a seemingly entry level position. The office itself was in a very nice building and took up a whole floor comprised of standard looking cubicles and nicer offices along the outside wall (with great views of Manhattan).
