Summer Analyst

Got the firm's information via LinkedIn and decided to cold-call. Was transferred to the Project Manager who asked me a few basic fit questions (tell me about yourself, why IB, etc). Was asked to send resume and was told that they would be in touch.

A week later, was emailed to set up an in-person interview in their office which consisted of meeting with the individual I spoke with on the phone. He asked some more basic fit questions like what I was looking to get out of the internship, what I saw myself doing down the road, very simple questions. Conversation was very casual and talked about personal stuff as well (hometowns, hobbies, etc). Was also explained the internship procedure and what the role would consist of during the time. After the interview, I was told that I would be called later to set up a future interview with the CEO and President.

Was brought back a few days later to meet with the President (CEO was at a client meeting). He proceeded to ask a few of the same questions that I was asked at the previous interview, but also tried to gauge how comfortable I was with basic finance and accounting concepts. No specific questions, just wanted to see how I presented myself and how confident I sounded, I assume. Was also asked if I had access to Bloomberg, CapIQ, or the like. I think this was just to build familiarity and not too important of a factor. This interview was on a Friday and was extended an offer on the following Monday.
