Phone Interview
Interview
After initially submitting an online application, I was contacted for a 1st round telephone interview a week later. This interview was conducted by one of the analysts and was mostly basic technical questions. A week later I was notified that I was chosen for the 2nd round with an MD over the phone. This was more of a personal interview and dealt with my knowledge of current deals. The final round consisted of an in-person interview at their office.
Interview Questions
How would you value a company with negative or no revenue? What are some metrics that could be useful in helping you to value it?
Please walk me through the 3 financial statements and how they are linked. Which would be the most useful if you could only have one.

Interview
The hiring process for analysts generally consists of 3 phone interviews with an analyst, associate, and a VP, followed by an in person interview with the whole team. The process is very organized, and they are good about keeping you in the loop as to where you are in the overall process. The phone interviews are generally laid-back interviews, mostly resume walk-throughs and very little technical questions. In person interviews are conducted as the last step, during which the people you interviewed with over the phone will ask the technical questions, and the senior staff will focus more on fit.

The people are great, very friendly. Strict no-asshole policy at the firm. Work culture is generally relaxed, no face-time, and they are comfortable with you going home before 10PM and working from home if need be.
Interview Questions
Most difficult question was a mini case study. I was given a laptop, a private company, and 30 minutes to come up with a public comp set.

Phone Interview
Interview
My interview process was very informal, as I was fortunate enough to have a connection with someone inside the firm. Phone calls were made, and I spent time with them on the phone. They seemed very interested and enjoyable. The interviewers started with a "Tell me about yourself" question. Very laid-back, and not interrogation-like at all.
Interview Questions
Tell me what you want to get out of this interview.

I said the truth... I wanted experience and a networking opportunity. Something that they were very impressed with was how I had researched their firm and matched their philosophy and manner of business with my own.
