The process consisted of 9 total interviews. A phone screening, then a 1 on 1 interview with one of the heads of Asset Management. Then got sent the case study, very simple DCF for a fake business. Got 2 days for the case study, then presented it to a panel of associates. After that, in same day, (super day format) spoke to 4 other members of Asset Management team. Then three weeks later spoke to 5 different heads of "partnering" teams.
Interview Questions
Most questions were very basic valuation questions. hardest question asked was just general "walk me through the structure of our new platform."

Interview
The hiring process was straight forward. My application was submitted by a recruiter for a direct lending associate position, and someone from Blue Owl reached out to me to set up two first round interviews. These interviews were virtual. The culture seemed intense, and the princiapls I interviewed with seemed very busy. I would prepare heavily on studying prior deal experience.
Interview Questions
The most difficult interview question I received was a technical question regarding fund leverage. I was asked to calculate the returns of an investment that consisted of 50% debt with an interest rate of 7%.

London office
Round 1: Separate 1x1 with ED and HR (45min each)
Round 2: 1-1.5hr Technical Interview with VP (involved on the spot mini case, with paper LBO)
Round 3: 30/45 minute meetings with MDs and Head
Round 4: 4 hour case study (3 hours working on investment case + 1 hour presentation and Q&A)

Advice for interview:
- know your CV and your deals like the back of your hand
- on the case, build a good / clean model, but ensure to be spend ample time dissecting the company: understanding the basics and as much in depth relevant points as possible. A lot of the discussion will be based on if you truly understand the business model.
Interview Questions
In the technicals interview, you were given the financial statements of 3 different companies (no names provided), and were asked to figure out what type of businesses these were., In the case study, there were significant discussions around what would you do if you had more time. Also if you were asked a question on a specific topic and had the correct answer they would drill in further until you didn't have the answer - this is typical for most case study rounds.

Interview
I got the interview at HPS through a headhunter at Amity Search Partners. Specifically, I interviewed for the Mezzanine fund. The first round of interviews consisted of 1 on 1s with managing directors and partners. They asked to walk them through my resume and then followed up with questions about deals I've worked on. They did seem to be very focused on the question "say we were looking at a software company. where would you invest in the capital structure and why?"
