Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I was referred to Huron Life Science Consulting through a contact at the firm. I had an initial phone interview that lasted for 1 hour, and was invited to their offices (formerly Frankel Group) in Manhattan. The interview consisted on a 1 hr lunch with a senior analyst and manager. This lunch was very collegial and was an opportunity to learn more about the firm and its work.

The second portion of the interview was a case interview that lasted a total of 1.5 hours. The interviewer introduced herself and explained the format of the case interview. It was a written case, and I was given a worksheet with specific questions to answer. I was then given a slide deck, a primary research article, a secondary review article related to the case, and a transcript from a phone interview with a physician that understood the market for the disease of interest for the case. I had 45 minutes to go through the case and answer all of the questions. The interviewer came back after 45 minutes, and we discussed my answers to the worksheet. In addition to the questions on the worksheet, the interviewer was looking for me to look beyond the stated questions, and to synthesize how the answers to the questions informed us to the relevant value of the market for the client.

The third portion of the interview was a case interview that lasted 1.5 hours. It was another written case interview. This time, I was given a computer and instructions for looking up information on potential indications for an existing drug. I researched the potential disease indications and relative market size, and recorded how I found the information. The interviewer left the room and came back after 45 minutes, and we discussed how I approached the case. The interviewer was more interested in how I prioritized how I was going to research the information, more so than the actual information that I found.

The last portion of the interview was a typical behavioral interview, and that lasted about 45 minutes. No questions came out of left field- they were typical "tell me about yourself, greatest weakness, etc."

Overall, I didn't get the greatest vibe from the interviewers. The interview was early in the week, and the interviewers seemed to be bothered that they had to take the time out of their day to interview me, and they didn't seem to hide that fact.
