Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I applied for the position online and was asked why I wanted to intern at ICAP. This response was around 300 words or so. After a few days, HR contacted me and I set up a phone interview. The phone interview went extremely well. I was asked general questions about ICAP's competitors, their stock price, and then some personal questions about what I do on my free time and stuff like that. A week later I was invited to an assessment center at their Jersey office where I took a timed math test (currency conversions), did a group pitch, and a one on one interview that consisted of no technical questions. I was offered the position and accepted. My advice was know a lot about ICAP and the products they work with. Also understand the business and be prepared to differentiate it from other positions in finance like trading at a BB. The people at the office were very upbeat, friendly, professional, and passionate about their work.
