Please describe the interview / hiring process.
Met ICAP reps at a feb/march career fair junior year, I think because I happened to say hello to about 10 other students right in front of their tent they saw social skill which is valuable in broking and offered me an on campus interview for the next week after looking at my resume and talking to me for 5-10 minutes.

The on campus interview was with the global head of recruitment which is not typical, but I went to UMiami and since she loved Miami it was a school she liked coming to for campus interviews. She mostly asked me about why I love the markets, how I spend my day, if I like to mix work with other things, if I see other things I do as work... Basically trying to see if I was serious about capital markets, but also if I liked to socialize and sell, which you would have to do as an inter-dealer broker.

A few days later I was asked to attend a super day in Jersey City which was about 3 weeks after the initial contact (so it all moved fast) for an interview and fell in love with the culture, the massive floors full of energy and enthuse, people were happy to be working for ICAP and seemed to be doing very well for themselves.

The super day was actually just me and 2 others from my school, so the three of us were very surprised (familiar faces) when that setting presented itself. We were asked to do a team project which I don't remember but it was a quantitative case. Then we has this fake news station come on for 30 seconds, flash us some quotes streaming while relaying some news and we would have to answer some spot rate or market implication question. Then we were allowed to talk to brokers while we waited as we had our 1 on 2s (1 HR and 1 Broker interview you) and that is completely behavioral.

HR was disorganized, rude and never refunded me for my flight. I did great in the case study, the market questions they said the three of us beat their averages, but bombed the behavioral (didn't really expect it to be that heavy at a brokerage - my short sight). The lead campus recruitment/HR person was rude, and never got the two people who didn't get the job flight reimbursements - which I was surprised by.
