M&A Intern

The interview took place via Microsoft Teams and began with the interviewers introducing themselves and explaining their roles within the team. Following these introductions, the conversation moved on to technical questions and my motivation for applying.

The technical discussion covered the M&A process, valuation methods, and topics specific to technology companies. I was asked about the different stages of an M&A transaction and how the process works. This required a structured explanation of the main steps and an understanding of how they fit together.

Valuation was another key area. The questions focused on company valuation, with particular attention to technology sector multiples and trading comparables. This part of the discussion involved explaining valuation approaches and demonstrating an understanding of how multiples are used when assessing and comparing companies. The technology focus was particularly relevant to this section of the interview.

Alongside the technical questions, we discussed my motivation for pursuing a career in M&A and my interest in the opportunity. These questions gave me the chance to explain my reasons for applying and connect my interests with the role.

Overall, the interview combined questions about transaction processes and valuation with a discussion of my personal motivation and interest in M&A.
