Investment Banking Analyst

The interview included what I had expected from my first IB interview ever. It started off with a simple walk through the resume/story that somewhat informed the remainder of the interview. One of the interviewers was an alumni from my school so there was a general ease of flow surrounding some of my academic work. I felt that I turned the interview into a more technical process than it needed to be. I was caught up, mainly by nerves and wasn't able to move smoothly through some of my answers.

My advice to anyone interviewing at the firm would be to (it goes without saying) prepare for some technical questions.

Don't push the interview in a direction that it doesn't necessarily need to go. I felt like I needed to prove technical skills but if I had focused more on connecting with the interviewers and explaining what my strengths would be in the workplace it would have been more productive.
