Interview
I submitted an application online. I then submitted a HireVue and an IQ test and heard back from the company about a month later about a superday. I had 4 30-minute behavioral interviews where most questions were about my past experience (in IB & VC), what I'd look for in a company I want to invest in and some spaces/ companies that I'm interested in. The rest of the questions were classic behaviorals (Tell me about a time when you failed, how do you resolve conflict, what are your biggest strengths, etc.) The next rounds were a set of three 15-minute interviews (1-on-1) with three members of the senior management team (including the COO). These were honestly just vibe checks - more casual but questions are essentially the same.
Interview Questions
No question was particularly difficult but I was asked to pitch an early-stage startup that I was interested in and why I like the startup/ industry.

Interview
There was a virtual video cover letter in February. Due to COVID, the sequence likely changed, but then in summer I had a two-day final interview.
Interview Questions
It wasn't a pure investing or strategy interview. I don't think they had any pure questions to ask; it was more that whenever I would bring up an idea, they would ask more about it to see if I truly knew what I was talking into.

With these types of environments, I would come in through studying about one specific industry vertical and being able to speak to that, rather than just brushing the surface with numerous but not truly being able to intelligently form an opinion or share your perspective.

Interview
Did a resume drop on my school's career portal, they got back to me within a week. Then was invited for a video cover letter.
Interview Questions
In the cover letter, they asked two questions essentially.

The first one was " Why do you want to do Private Equity or Venture Capital and why do you want to pursue it at Insight Venture Partners?"

The second question was "Tell me about something difficult you have experienced."

These are the only two questions they ask you, give you 30 sec - 1 minute to prepare and then you have 1 minute to deliver your answer. It's a very short process that takes less than 10 minutes but make sure to dress formal.

Interview
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Insight Venture Partners (New York, NY (US)) in September 2016.
Interview Questions
First an on campus interview, then a superday in New York City. People in the interview were friendly and the question were what you'd expect. Superday was similar to what I expected- met a few different people at the firm and got asked the standard interview questions. Liked that the interview process was quick and the company didn't waste much time getting through it. There are two stages to the interview, the first is an interview with an analyst and the second is with a partner.

Most difficult: Explain SaaS to your grandman – didn't really anticipate this

They have you do a resume drop. Then, they ask you for unofficial transcript and video cover letter.
Interview Questions
They asked me about something difficult I had experienced.
They also asked me about why I wanted to do private equity or venture capital.
These were the only two questions for the cover letter review - there were no more.
The turnaround time for this is pretty quick - they reached out to me a few hours after I had submitted my application asking for unofficial transcript and the video cover letter.
Very friendly people, human resources also very helpful in the recruiting process. Overall, good experience.
