Please describe the interview / hiring process.
I found this job via my school's online job site. However, the company made it so that you had to apply through their website. I applied and got an email shortly thereafter asking about my availability for an interview. I went into the office for my interview. When I arrived there was nobody there to greet me. No receptionist, nothing. It eventually took another employee returning from lunch that noticed me waiting to get things going. I was asked to fill out an application with references and former contacts before I was actually interviewed, which I found odd seeing as I was already there for an interview. I first interviewed with two employees, who never actually said their job titles (although I think they were analysts). Standard interview. Went through my resume, "tell me about a time...." questions, asked some very basic technical questions (I mean basic; tell me about three valuation techniques). Neither of the interviewers seemed very happy to be there and didn't make me feel welcome at all, so I was happy when they left and told me that the Director would be coming in next to interview me. He was even worse. He is a former Air Force Captain and, because I have a military background as well, that was all he wanted to talk about. That was fine with me, but it did kind of feel like a waste of time. He kept comparing the work at the firm to hunting, killing, and war. Which I thought was interesting because he was an Air Force pilot (insert Air Force joke here haha). This went on for a while and he concluded with, "So, do you want to do this? Are you ready for this?" I told him, I would need a few days to think about it and compare to my other offers.
