Simply put, as a company gets more reviews, the confidence of a "true score" increases so it is pulled closer to its simple average and away from the average of the entire dataset.

Interview
I first got an interview through on-campus recruiting. It was a 1-on-1 interview. Very informal. No technicals. We ran through my resume, talked about different projects I've worked on. Most of the time we talked about cycling and gambling. Two things we had in common. After this first interview, there was a dinner that same night with people who had gotten through the first round.

Then, about a week later, a second interview was set up with the specific group I would be in. I had no say in which group. I think they just decided from my background and experience. No complaints about that. This was a skype interview with the head of that group. Very similar to the first interview. No technicals. Ran through my resume. Why ITG? Why research? Nothing terrible. I had told them that I had another offer whose deadline was coming up that week, so I think they sped up the process and that day, I was called by HR to set up another skype interview the following day.

This one was a little more technical. We ran quickly through my resume, but the interviewer picked out one of my projects and kept grilling me on it. On the technical side of it. I kind of flopped a couple questions, but then he spent 20 minutes answering some of my questions. He said that he likes to hear what kind of questions the interviewee has and that's how he makes his decision.

The following Monday, they called me with an offer. Very quick interview process. They made quick decisions. I'm not sure if they are always like this or if they did it because I had told them I had an offer. Regardless of why, they were awesome.
