Founded in 2003, Jafco Ventures invests in US mid-stage emerging technology ventures. Jafco invests primarily in cutting edge, broad-based IT segments such as consumer internet, digital media, enterprise software, cloud computing, mobile applications and security. The firm may selectively invest in industries ripe for change, such as agriculture/food, education, energy and health care. For most companies, due diligence is completed within two to three weeks.
For financing rounds that Jafco leads, the typical investment is between$10 to $20 million. Otherwise, Jafco's typical initial investment size is between $6 million to $12 million depending on the level of maturity of the company and the size of its financing requirements.
Notable investments include: Bill.com, FireEye (NASDAQ: FEYE), Ionic Security, Meebo (acquired by Google), Palo Alto Networks (NYSE: PANW), Proofpoint (NASDAQ: PFPT), Teladoc and TRUSTe.
