Interview
Got in touch with the recruiter via email at first. We scheduled a phone interview. The phone interview starts precisely at the time we decided, so it might be a good idea to be ready in advance. First interview was simple probability, highschool level stuff. However, it can be easy to mess up if you make small computation mistakes, and they don't like that so it would be better to make sure you've got all the basics covered by doing lots of probability problems (dice rolls etc).2nd phone interview was more open-ended, I had some brainteasers that weren't trivial but doable if you go step by step explaining your tought process. 3rd one was coding on some online platform (forgot the name). I hadn't really prepared for this as I thought it would be mostly probability stuff like for traders, but it turns out there's some python coding too. It wasn't too hard though, I didn't manage to finish but it was enough to proceed to the on site interviews. Jane Street took care of all travel expenses and had me stay in a hotel. The next interview was very very open-ended and I had to narrow down the amount of possibilities quite a lot to make the problem more approachable. Didn't make the cut from here.
Interview Questions
