Please describe the interview / hiring process.
First step was to submit resumes from college career site, as well as a formal application through the Janus website. Then HR reached out to schedule first round interviews, which were done over the phone. These were very fit focused, questions were primarily "Tell me about yourself," "What do you do outside of school," etc. and were with a FI analyst. Three to four weeks later HR reached out again for a super day at the headquarters in Denver. Interviews were held with about eight members of the Fixed Income team, some 1 on 1, some 2 on 1. Pretty informal process, once I was done in one person's office, they would just walk me to another person and ask if they had time. Whole team was extremely friendly throughout, and seemed genuinely interested in the answers I gave. Most interviews were pretty basic and regular, except the interview with the PM. He had many off-the-wall and think-on-your-feet questions, and kept asking follow-ups to each questions. He also made them relevant to my resume which was really cool. Example: I listed one of my hobbies as fantasy football, so he asked me how much skill vs. luck I believed determined fantasy football, and how I could measure the amount of luck in a certain fantasy football league. Overall a great process in which I was challenged intellectually, but never thought I was being grilled or purposefully crushed. A VP contacted me soon after the super day to personally offer me the position, and I accepted.
