Company Details

J.F. Lehman & Company was founded in 1992 by Dr. John F. Lehman, who served six years as Secretary of the United States Navy (1981-1987) and recently completed service as a member of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (the "9/11 Commission"). The firm's strategy is based on the conversion of specialized industry knowledge and skills into value by helping acquired companies achieve their full potential.

For almost two decades, J.F. Lehman has pursued an exclusive and consistent focus on investing in lower middle market companies in the defense, aerospace and maritime industries and the technologies that originate from them. This investment strategy reflects the firm's deep experience in and commitment to these sectors and the belief that many established suppliers in these sectors are outstanding investment candidates.

The firm is headquartered in New York and has transatlantic resources and capabilities with additional offices in Washington, DC and London. To date, the firm has made investments in companies with an aggregate transaction value of approximately $1.6 billion.
