I got the interview through Go Buyside. First round was two separate 1 on 1 interviews with a senior associate and VP. The next round was a 2 hour model test along with a written word document where you had to create a list of diligence questions based on a company description. They gave you the company description and data such as revenue by customer and SKU, which you had to cut and create exhibits and questions. You had 2 hours total to complete both requests. The last round for me was a super day in office, which was 8 different 30 minute 1 on 1 interviews with everyone at the firm from Senior Associate to Partner.

Interview Questions
I've only finished the third round, but it wasn't too bad. Mostly fit based questions and questions on my experience. The most diffucult question was about the MF trends around the U.S. and the World. However in the end we ended up giving the same answers so it was alright. if you can’t think of a specific situation, you would have to give a “this is what I would do versus what I’ve done” answer. “Before you answer, take a breath and pause to really think,” she advises. Then she would say something like: “I take great pride in the quality of my work, so if one of my coworkers prevented me from doing my best, I would use an honest, direct approach with that person. I would ask my coworker to get a cup of coffee and sit down for a moment in a private place

Interview
The process was short and sweet. Essentially requires you to be a functional adult who is willing to take risks and accommodate your employer by learning new skills. Particularly it's important to be able to reach out to a variety of contacts over the phone.
Interview Questions
Them most unexpected question that was asked during the interview was to in depth describe my thesis and why I thought it had prepared me to able to adequately deal with any challenges that may arise while reaching out or diving into the data. In addition I was surprised at how friendly each interviewer was and the interview felt more akin to a conversation among friends then a indepth interview. Many questions were brought up unexpecidtly from this so be prepared for clear pivots in your train of thought.

I had an initial phone interview with HR. The interview was just basic questions about my resume and my excel skills. The second interview I had was with a VP in the office and I was asked questions about my background and some technical questions.
