Interview
I applied to be a venture capital intern at JUMP investors on Indeed last winter. I received a phone interview with an associate in two weeks. Questions were very basic and behavioral. One week later, I received a writing test, where I was asked to do research on a beach and wrote a review on it. This unusual process for a venture capital interview was because interns last year mainly worked on a start-up that the company self-funded. The start-up is a beach-related website. Two weeks later, I received an offer and happily accepted. Note, this position was not paid but the company invited a series of keynote speakers across the industry in return.

Interview

Interview Questions
Questions were all very basic. Trying to get a feel for why you're interested in VC, startups, etc. Understand your strengths, weaknesses, why you want an internship. Really trying to make sure you're someone who can do monotonous work and have a good attention to detail and strong drive. Hardest question was why do you want an internship? It's not a very hard question but they pressed pretty hard on it. Emphasize how you want hands on experience working with startups and don't be afraid to mention how this will help for future internships in different industries (IB, PE, etc.)
