Analyst

Interview process was fairly informal and somewhat less structured than other banks - initial phone screen with someone from HR to gauge fit by interest, followed by a phone interview with two analysts from the group.

After that, I had an informal phone interview / conversation with the MD from the group before proceeding to in-person interview in the Cleveland HQ. No technical questions asked throughout the entire phone interview process.

Once I arrived at the office, I met with the group's associate, VP, and two MDs. Still no technical questions were asked and the discussions were almost entirely behavioral and walking through a presentation book on the group.

The most important criteria seemed to be fit, as it's a relatively small group within the bank. The group seemed to work well together and, because it's DCM, everyone sits together in their closed-off portion of the trading floor, so there are no offices separating the MDs / VPs from the analysts. Many of the questions revolved around why I could see myself working in Cleveland, which I found difficult to answer as I was seeing it for the first time in the dead of winter and knew virtually nothing about the area.
