Senior Associate, Tech IB Group

Applied through LinkedIn before Winter holidays. Recruiter reached out a few weeks later, shortly after New Years for initial phone screening. They had hired a new MD in tech and needed to hire an experienced Associate and an Analyst to support him. Recruited followed up 1 week later and invited me in for 1 on 1 interviews with the MD and other Analyst and Associate in the Charlotte office. The office is small (less than 10 people) and houses the industrial technology group, as well as the new tech group, which primarily focuses on Fin Tech, but also tech enabled business services. Everyone was nice and the interviews covered my boutique deal experience in tech, as well as the opportunity with Keybanc's platform. There were no technical questions. The office had a quiet, laid-back feeling, and everyone seemed to get along. The MD was traveling the following week, which delayed a decision. Heard back two weeks after the interview that they decided to hire a candidate with more Fin Tech-specific deal experience (mine was more tech-enabled services and digital media).
