Interview
I received the interview through a recruiter. Met with 2 members of the tax team. It was a relatively small group comprised of no more than 8 people. my first interview was with the senior analyst and it was mainly fit questions such as why do you want the work here and where do you see yourself in few years? The interviewer also asked few technical questions relating to my background and the resume. The 2nd interview was with the manager of the group. It was also a very similar process consisting of mostly background questions, behavioral questions, followed by a few technicals. Overall, it was a pleasant interview and the interviewers felt very happy to work at the company.
Interview Questions
The were a few difficult questions and they were mostly related to the technical aspects of the job such as what is a straddle? A straddle is an investment strategy where a investor holds a call and put option with the same strike price and expiration date, both paying premiums. Walk me through "xx" book to tax adjustment? Walk me through a bond market premium calculation? Walk me through the aggregation method? What is a wash sale? A wash sale is when a investor sells a losing security to claim a capital loss only to repurchase it few days later at a bargain.
